Area high school students participate in American Mathematics Competition 10 & 12岁，利记sbo

High school students sit in chairs facing a screen in the Concourse for the AMC 10和AMC 12 Mathematics Competition.

的 AMC 10和AMC 12 都是25道题, 75分钟, multiple-choice exams in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. 的y are the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad.

的利记sbo Math Department hosted the American Mathematics Competition 10 and 12 at its Burrstone Road campus on November 8, 2023.

的 AMC 10 is for students in 10th grade and below and covers the high school curriculum up to 10th grade. 学生s in grade 10 or below and under 17.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 10. 的 AMC 12 covers the entire high school curriculum, 包括三角函数, 高等代数, 高级几何, 但不包括微积分. 学生s in grade 12 or below and under 19.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 12. Each student can only sign up for AMC 10 or AMC 12 but not both.

Administered by 利记sbo, all contestants who perform well on AMC 10/12 are eligible for national recognition. Those who perform exceptionally well will be invited to participate in the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME)
